Joining Forces – The new Limesquare company is unleashed!
by Marina Wryer, Limesquare Vehicle Rental - 01/11/2011
Two Limesquare companies join together

November 2011 became a landmark month for two blossoming vehicle rental companies, as Limesquare Vehicle Rental and the younger but equally ambitious Limesquare Vehicle Hire amalgamated to form the all new and improved Limesquare Vehicle Rental Ltd, creating a portfolio of bustling depots that includes Swindon, Milton Keynes, Grantham and Peterborough, as well as the newly unveiled Chertsey branch.

Trading since 2003, Limesquare Vehicle Rental Jr. is the older of the two merging companies, and with many years of experience has already made a huge impact on the vehicle rental industry.

The thriving depots at Swindon and Milton Keynes are attracting more clients all the time as their reputation is passed around by word of mouth, and an impressive 10% of new customers have been referred by a friend or colleague.

Limesquare Vehicle Hire covers the English midlands and northern areas with depots in Grantham and Peterborough and customers located as far away as Scotland.

Both depots are expanding and supply vehicles to a diverse group of companies, enjoying the challenge of adapting the vehicles as appropriate to best suit their customers. Limesquare Vehicle Hire was established in 2005, and although relatively young has already stamped its mark on the vehicle rental market.

These two striking companies made the decision to merge after a number of years of being in the marketplace together, and employees from both sides are excited to be part of an expanding new entity. Director of Limesquare Vehicle Hire Miriam Webb says,

What is so exciting about this merger is that for the most part the two companies cover different geographical locations within England, so there is no direct competition between us. This means that moving forward we can work alongside each other to cover a much larger customer base than before.

Limesquare Vehicle Rental Sr. was officially unveiled on the 1st November 2011 after months of amicable discussion and the amalgamation of business practices and procedures between the two merging bodies, and now proudly presents five flourishing depots to the general public.

Kathy Warriner, part of the team at the new Head Office, says,

I am proud to be involved in this new exhilarating stage of company advancement. I feel that we are on the edge of something exciting and can't wait to see what the future holds for the company.

Moving forward all depots will now be branded as Limesquare Vehicle Rental, and to mark this momentous merger they will each be making a number of special offers available to customers so that we can all share in the celebrations together.

LIMESQUARE IS PROUD TO PRESENT ITS NEWEST DEPOT AS THE COMPANY CONTINUES TO EXPAND

Limesquare has recently opened its fifth branch in the lovely Surrey town of Chertsey, half an hour from Heathrow Airport and located in a key position to best serve London and the South East of England.

This is the latest development in what has been a very exciting expansion period for Limesquare Vehicle Rental, and with the new premises its coverage of the UK is continuing to grow all the time.

The manager of the new branch, Ian Mellett, has this to say:

I am really pleased and excited to be opening our brand new branch in Chertsey. From here we can provide our customers with daily hire, flexible fleet hire, vehicle contract hire and leasing throughout the South East and also UK wide for van, minibus and car rental. We are ideally positioned, less than 10 minutes from the M25, M3 and A3 and around 20 minutes from the M4, M40 and M1 motorways.

The depot was officially opened to the public on 1st November 2011, and initial interest shows that it may well be one of the busiest yet, partially due to its close proximity to a host of popular landmarks such as the airport and a multitude of nearby business parks.

Ian is planning on introducing some exciting new services to the branch, and adds that

Being on the doorstep of the world's busiest international airport at Heathrow also provides us with various opportunities to add value. We can offer an airport 'meet and greet' service where we personally meet the customer in the arrivals terminal and escort them directly to their car in the short term car park, and personally meet them on their return.

As part of our growth strategy Chertsey will provide the usual Limesquare focused 'customer driven' service to our existing and new customers throughout the South East, London and across the UK. We will focus on servicing the business user, working closely with them to provide a fleet solution that best suits their needs in this ever changing and uncertain economic climate.

Ian has worked within the car and van rental industry for 27 years, holding positions in both sales and operational management. With a wealth of industry knowledge and experience behind him the new Chertsey depot is in safe hands with Ian at the helm, and Limesquare is pleased to be able to invite customers to visit us and consider using us for any rental requirements.

During these exciting times at Limesquare staff are looking forward to seeing what is in store for the company and how it can continue to be at the cutting edge of the vehicle rental business.

Limesquare believe that Ian will maintain Chertsey as one of the most competitive rental branches in the industry with unsurpassable customer service. Ian looks to the future and promises that

I and my team at Chertsey look forward to the challenges ahead, and to providing our customers with an exceptional service.

LSVR receives makeover with brand new website.
by Marina Wryer, Limesquare Vehicle Rental - 31/10/2011

With a more intuitive interface and interactive sections the new Limesquare Vehicle Rental website is now accessible to the public.

This new interface is the culmination of months of development by member of the Limesquare Group, Limesquare IT Ltd, and brings the company in line with the most up-to-date and modern website design.

Head of the project to rejuvenate the website is Miriam Webb, who studied Computer Science and Mathematics. Miriam says that working on the project has been

a long and detailed process, but with the correct planning and implementation has resulted in a website that is hopefully both informative and easy to use.

Screenshots of Limesquare Vehicle Rental's new website

The website now clearly separates Personal Hire and Corporate Hire into two distinctly different sections, so whether you are a member of the public or part of an organisation looking to set up an account you will be able to clearly identify the hire package relevant to you.

Sections with information about each of our depots make it easier to identify which of our branches is closest to you if you want to visit us, although we do offer nationwide coverage for longer periods of hire if you wish for the vehicle to be delivered to you.

The new media section offers the latest company news, as well as an image gallery, downloadable e-brochure and newly introduced seasonally newsletter. The emphasis of the new site is to offer an informative but fun way of organising your vehicle hire, whatever your requirements happen to be. We hope you enjoy using this website as much as the IT Team enjoyed writing it.

Lands End to John O'Groats: Cycling 1000 miles to fight cancer.

MEMBERS OF THE SIR DANIEL ARMS PUB CYCLE THE LENGTH OF BRITAIN TO RAISE MONEY FOR CLIC SERGENT – PUB HOPPING ALONG THE WAY!

On 28th September 2011 three intrepid cycling enthusiasts cycled from one tip of the British Isles to the other, all in a brutal effort to raise money for the charity Clic Sergent. Clic Sergent supports children and young people who suffer from cancer, as well as their families, all the way through their treatment and recovery.

During treatment Click Sergent provides specialist nurses and play specialists who make home visits to keep families as comfortable and stress free as possible. They help offer grants and community support, and can even help organise holidays for children with cancer and their families, and still help support after treatment has finished, either by helping survivors or by offering counselling support for the bereaved.

Lands End to John O'Groats

These 3 enthusiastic young men are all members of the Sir Daniel Arms Pub in Swindon (part of the JD Wetherspoons pub group), and decided to raise money for this more than worthy charity by cycling almost 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats, stopping at 211 Wetherspoons Pubs along the way.

The group also had a bespoke beer created especially for their cause which they sold to great affect across the country. All profits from the sale of this beer also went towards Clic Sergent.

As the route across England and Scotland is a long and potentially treacherous one, a fourth member of the team drove a back-up van in support of the group, repairing the bikes as necessary and storing them overnight. This van was provided free of charge by Limesquare Vehicle Rental, who was keen to support such a worthy cause.

It took the team just over two weeks to get to John O'Groats, averaging over 60 miles per day – this is a fantastic time to complete such a long distance and we would like to congratulate them all on their hard work. At last count the Sir Daniel Arms Pub Team had raised over £17,000 for Clic Sergent.

Staff at a town centre pub tackled an indoor all-day triathlon in a bid to raise money for a children's charity.

About 30 employees at the Sir Daniel Arms, in Fleet Street, took turns on running, rowing and cycling machines during the pub's weekend opening hours.

"The team did excellently – they loved it."
- Bar manager Joey Heaton

The 18-hour challenge aimed to raise about £2,000 for JD Wetherspoon's chosen charity of the year, Clic Sargent, which supports children with cancer.

Bar manager Joey Heaton, who completed the first and last stints on the equipment, said: "We don't know anyone who has done it before, it's something that's different.

"The team did excellently – they loved it. The response from the customers has been brilliant."

During the last three weeks, staff have collected about £250 in sponsorship and collected further donations from customers on the day.

The triathlon saw staff, including managers, DJs and doormen, each work out for one hour on the equipment – spending 20 minutes on each piece of equipment. Some staff completed two stints.

The distance they travelled on each piece of equipment was recorded and staff had some internal competitions. Fit4Less gym at Eldene loaned the equipment, which was transported to the venue in a van provided free of charge by Lime Square Group vehicle rental.

Lee Davies runs Reading Half Marathon.
by Marina Wryer, Limesquare Vehicle Rental - 21/03/2011
Lee with his son following the Marathon

We would like to congratulate Lee Davies, Manager of Limesquare's Swindon branch, for running the Reading Half Marathon for the fifth time on the 20th March 2011 and raising money for BIBS. BIBS is the charity that supports the Special Care Baby Unit on Buscot Ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. This charity is very close to Lee's heart as his son Jacob spent the first two and a half weeks of his life there after being born 2 months prematurely. The nurses on Buscot Ward helped to look after little Jacob, and thanks to their help he has become a strapping young boy who proudly cheered his father on during the Reading Half Marathon.

Lee managed to complete the race in a fantastic time of 2 hours and 12 minutes and managed to raise a massive £845.00 for BIBS which will go towards caring for newborn babies that are born needing extra care at Royal Berkshire Hospital.

From all of us at Limesquare, as well as Lee's family, we would like to say an enormous well done!

For more information on BIBS, or if you would like to make a donation, please visit www.bibs.org.uk.
